Nowadays, when the concert scene is vibrant but the sheer number of events often far exceeds the quality of some performances, every appearance of the Academic Folk Choir, conducted by Prof. Dr. Buradzhiev, stands out as a firmly established, high-level professional event.
Today, we had the pleasure of experiencing the presentation of the ensemble’s new album — “Folklore Sacraments.” The album features 18 compositions by Krasimir Kyurkchiyski, St. Mutafchiev, G. Genov, G. Andreev, Ivan Spasov, Iv. Valev, K. Buradzhiev, as well as arrangements and adaptations by St. Paurov, St. Mutafchiev, and K. Buradzhiev, performed by the talented choir members under the direction of choirmaster Stanimira Manolova. The musical interpretation of these works, crafted by Prof. Dr. Buradzhiev, is a true benchmark of choral artistry.
Thank you, dear Professor Buradzhiev, my esteemed friend, for the gifted album and the heartfelt dedication!
The divine spark radiates through your work. I wish you and the girls continued success — onward and upward!
Dr. Tsvetelina Borisova
The new project “Folklore Sacraments” truly touched my soul. I’ve had the recordings for a few days now and have been playing bits and pieces from time to time, but yesterday — on Palm Sunday — I gifted myself the full pleasure of listening to the entire album, revisiting the especially striking moments and immersing myself in the magic of folklore.
Dear Ladies,
Thank you for sharing this treasure with all of us.
— The beautiful folk sound — clear, bright, unmistakably Bulgarian;
— The elegantly shaped inner lines — allowing each choral voice to shine through;
— The warm nuances — enriching every piece with depth and emotion;
— The climactic moments — guiding us toward an awareness of the work’s complete form;
— The remarkable wealth of soloists with truly beautiful voices;
— The endings — giving emotional meaning to the entire musical flow…
All of this is present in abundance, bringing deep aesthetic and artistic satisfaction. Keep going! I wonder if you yourselves fully realize the priceless song heritage and the textbook-worthy interpretations you are leaving behind.
Thank you for placing your trust in Prof. Buradzhiev and for helping bring to life the musical canvas of his soul.
Prof. Dr. Rada Slavinska
